A novel by James and Marion Applegate
Symphony of Spirits, published 2005, sings of Snapping Turtle, a bereaved, Lenni Lenape who is forced to awaken from his melancholy to rescue his family, ravaged by kidnappers. Encouraged by his loving grandson, Osprey, Snapping Turtle tracks the depraved Gamek and frees his family and thirty other slaves. Rebuilding a community with the help of these people proves to be a huge responsibility. His faith and his dreams comfort and guide him during his ordeal.
